I am very excited to be given this opportunity!! I can’t stop thinking about the experiences ahead of me and what skiing I will be able to do! Even though the bulk of my experience will be in the kitchen I still have excitement for the other things that I will be doing while i'm there, like working with architecture students. I feel like I will really be putting my foot in the door and helping to create/build onto the history that is already there.
WEEK 1: This week was generally boring because I worked long hours for three days at the beginning, the rest of the week I stayed at the house and walked around town. I'm starting to like it around here even though it is quite chilly 100% of the time but it's a cool town. The most exciting thing about this was that I got to go to a concert in Denver. We had a very long day because we got to work at 10:30am and got home at 2am!! It was worth it though.
WEEK 2: I had a great but very repetitive week. I went to work and did the dishes for the kitchen everyday in the morning. The architecture students were supposed be up here last weekend but due to weather they did not make it. I'm really bummed about that because I was the most excited to be working with them. I’ve been staying at my cousin's house since last weekend which is pretty nice because we have gone skiing and played video games. I don’t think I will be doing much else besides working in the kitchen with my uncle for now on.
WEEK 3: My other cousin and her friend came in last weekend. I haven't been able to see her in awhile because she lives in Tennessee now and I don’t get to see her over the summer any more. This week was very laid back, I didn’t have to go to work that much except for Thursday and Friday. I really like it here even though it is a pretty beat down town it’s filled with history and character.
